Tom Brady may have fallen short of his goal to get another Super Bowl title but the New England Patriots remains thankful for what he accomplished this past season.
In an Instagram post, the 40-year-old reflected on his past season and although he admitted that there were some mixed emotions particularly on some of the mistakes made which resulted in a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, those mistakes are part of “growing in this journey of life.”
He said the lessons learned turn the mistakes into a positive. However, the overall feeling he had in the past four days after the loss is still gratitude.
“Gratitude to my teammates for the incredible effort given all season regardless of the challenges we faced,” he wrote. “Gratitude toward my coaches for the effort and sacrifice they make to put us players in the best position to win.”
He thanked the Patriots organization and for creating a team that will put him in a best position to win. He also gave credit to their opponents for “bringing out the best in us and being gracious winners.”
He thanked the fans for always supporting them through thick and thin. Finally, Brady thanked his family and friends “who continue to love and support my dreams.”
Fans will still have one more year, at least, to support Brady as the quarterback has committed to try out again for a Super Bowl contention with the New England Patriots.
Last month, Brady said that retirement is far from his mind right now. He said that he doesn’t get why everybody wants him to step down when the team is doing good, and he’s still one of the top quarterbacks in the game.
“I know I’m a little bit older than most of the other guys, but I’m really enjoying it,” he said.
