Saquon Barkley is the man who has NFL fans the most excited this year. His jersey is the highest-selling of all the first round picks and he’s expected to make a serious impact for the New York Giants. But he’s not the only Barkley that has football fans buzzing.
His Brother Ali’s No Slouch Either
Ali Barkley is Saquon’s little brother. He won’t be ready for the draft until 2020, but he’s already making waves over at Penn State.
He joined the “Lion Strong” camp this weekend and it was a great chance to get a look at a possible future star in the making.
He’s Only Played Five Games So Far
Ali has not been incredibly active in high school ball; in fact, he only played five games during his sophomore year at Whitehall High. Yet Rutgers, Pitt, and Temple have joined Penn State in expressing interest in Ali.
So, what’s going on? Well, as you can see from the video above, Ali is shaping up well. Another recent video of Ali doing box jumps has gone viral. He makes it seem so easy.
There’s The Family History
However, it’s not just his play style and his box jumping that has everyone’s mouths watering. It’s the fact that Saquon was a late bloomer. He wasn’t really active until a year before he joined the NFL and then he blew away scouts with his 41-inch vertical jump and his equally incredible 4.4-second 40-year dash.
Then everybody fell in love with him during training for his intense work ethic and the New York Giants began talking him up as “the pick of this year’s draft.” It’s early, but people are already starting to see something similar in Ali Barkley. Remember his name for when 2020 rolls around.
