Wives and Girlfriends of the NFL’s Most Famous Players
NFL players are known for their play on the field, but many also happen to be dating or married to women who are superstars in their own right!
You’ll never believe what some of the most famous NFL wives and girlfriends of current and former players like Tom Brady, Tony Romo, and Patrick Mahomes do in their free time!
Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen
He may be one of the richest quarterbacks in NFL history, but Tom Brady isn’t the breadwinner in his household. That title belongs to his wife, supermodel Gisele Bundchen. The supermodel is one of the most recognizable Brazilians on the planet, and she’s also one of the world’s most sought-after models.
In 2014, Bundchen was named the 89th most powerful woman in the world by Forbes — and with that power comes paychecks. Bundchen’s estimated 2016 earnings were roughly $30.5 million, thanks to her modeling appearances and endorsement deals. Brady, meanwhile, racked up “only” $15 million as the best signal-caller in the NFL.
AJ McCarron and Katherine Webb
Three-time BCS National Champion quarterback AJ McCarron was a sensation at Alabama, leading the Crimson Tide to one of college football’s most dominant dynasties ever. But his then-girlfriend turned wife, Katherine Webb, stole some of that shine when McCarron was on the field.
During the 2013 National Championship, announcer Brent Musburger went crazy over Webb in the middle of the broadcast.
The attention helped Webb, the 2012 Miss Alabama winner, launch a modeling career. A year after she went viral, Webb appeared in Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue. Meanwhile, McCarron became a fifth-round NFL Draft pick and has since been one of the league’s most reliable backup quarterbacks.
Aaron Rodgers and Danica Patrick
It’s not often two dominant sports figures end up together, but that’s exactly what happened when Aaron Rodgers and Danica Patrick started dating. Patrick, an ultra-famous NASCAR and IndyCar Driver, became a viral sensation when she became the first woman to lead the IndyCar 500.
Meanwhile, sports fans have become plenty familiar with Rodgers, as the Super Bowl champion quarterback has decimated the NFL for more than a decade, picking apart opposing defenses with precision. By the end of his career, Rodgers may well have a case to make as the most talented quarterback in NFL history.
Antonio Brown and Jena Frumes
Easily the most controversial NFL player in recent memory, Antonio Brown has gone from an unheralded sixth-round draft pick to superstar wide receiver, locker room headache and, eventually, an unemployed waste of talent. Brown spent a large part of 2017 dating Instagram star Jena Frumes. But the romance didn’t last when a secret of Brown’s was revealed.
Jena was under the impression the two were still dating, but she found out Brown had been going back to the mother of his children via social media. The wide receiver posted a photo with his children and their mother on social media, which led Frumes to believe Brown used their relationship as a publicity stunt.
Russell Wilson and Ciara
It’s hard to tell who is more famous between Seattle Seahawks superstar quarterback Russell Wilson and his wife, singer/songwriter/actress Ciara. In the early 2000s, Ciara topped the charts with hits like “1,2 Step” and “Goodies,” solidifying her position as an R&B superstar. But Wilson’s NFL career has been equally impressive.
Wilson took the NFL by storm after he was selected in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft. The Seahawks gunslinger led his team to back-to-back NFC Championship games, as well as the first Super Bowl title in franchise history.
The couple got married in 2016 and has one child.
Osi Umenyiora and Leila Lopes
Former New York Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora was a terrifying force on the defensive line for decades. Umenyiora was a force in the Giants’ improbable Super Bowl runs (2007, 2011) that both ended in upset wins over the New England Patriots. In 2015, he married former Miss Universe Leila Lopes.
Lopes is one of the world’s most famous supermodels. Hailing from the African nation Angola, Lopes won both Miss Angola UK and Miss Angola in 2010. A year later, she followed up her titles with the vaunted Miss Universe title. In 2018, Lopes announced she was pregnant, and the couple now has a child.
Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews
Perhaps the heir apparent to Tom Brady as the NFL’s greatest quarterback, young sensation Patrick Mahomes has set the NFL ablaze since becoming a full-time starter in 2018. The Kansas City Chiefs’ first-round pick in 2017 appears to be on the fast track to rewrite the NFL record books.
Though she’s not a superstar quarterback, Matthews is also a great athlete. She received a scholarship from the University of Texas at Tyler and even played professionally for a team in Iceland called UMF Afturelding/Fram. The couple has spent more than seven years together and seem as happy as ever.
Eli Manning and Abby McGrew
Two-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Eli Manning may not be the record-breaking passer his brother Peyton was, but he’ll retire with two Super Bowl rings. That definitely counts for something. The longtime New York Giants signal-caller has had a solid career, becoming a fixture in the NFL for decades.
Manning met Abby McGrew at the University of Mississippi, in the spring of 2002. Manning, a junior, was the university’s star quarterback. McGrew, meanwhile, was just a freshman. They became official in the fall of that year, as Manning began the 2002 season at Ole Miss. The couple got engaged in 2007 and, a year later, they tied the knot in Los Cabos, Mexico.
Jay Cutler and Kristin Cavallari
Former Denver Broncos, Chicago Bears and Miami Dolphins quarterback Jay Cutler was known for being a gunslinger on the field. Cutler managed to marry the famous television personality, fashion designer and actress, Kristin Cavallari.
Cavallari got her first hint of fame in 2004, when she was cast in the reality television series Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. A year later, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. She has since starred in multiple television shows. Cutler and Cavallari married in 2013 but announced their split after 10 years together on April 27th, 2020 as a result of “two people growing apart”, says Cavallari.
Travis Kelce and Kayla Brown
While Travis Kelce should be no stranger at this point having just competed in the championship game, Kayla Brown is likely a new name for most. Brown has been an on-camera host for different networks and media outlets including “NBA, BET, Global Grind, HotNewHipHop, XONecole, All Def Digital, [and] BallisLife.”
Brown and Kelce made their first public outing in May 2017 at Jeremy Maclin’s wedding. Travis brought her as his plus-one to the event. During the regular season, they maintain a long distance relationship while she lives in LA.
Drew Brees and Brittany Dudchenko
Super Bowl champion quarterback Drew Brees is beloved in the city of New Orleans, thanks to more than a decade of dominance at the quarterback position. Brees holds NFL records for career pass completions, career completion percentage, and career passing yards. But, of all his accomplishments, his biggest may have been marrying Brittany Dudchenko in 2003.
The couple has had four children together. Brees and Dudchenko founded the Brees Dream Foundation the same year they were married, and they’ve raised millions of dollars for children in need of cancer and post-cancer treatments.
Alex Smith and Elizabeth Barry
Once the first overall pick of the NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers, Alex Smith has made an impact at QB for three different teams. After spending the beginning of his career in San Francisco, Smith was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs, and later, the Washington Redskins. In 2009, he married someone who also has NFL connections.
Smith married Elizabeth Barry, who was once upon a time a cheerleader for the Oakland Raiders. With Barry, a former NFL cheerleader, and Smith, an NFL quarterback, the two make for a perfect pair. The happy couple has two children together.
Julius Peppers and Claudia Sampedro
Arguably one of the greatest players in Carolina Panthers franchise history, Julius Peppers is one of the most dominant pass-rushers of all-time. But the star pass-rusher’s greatest accomplishment to date arguably came off the field, when he married his wife.
Peppers married WAGS Miami star Claudia Sampedro in 2014, while he was a member of the Green Bay Packers. Eventually, the couple moved back to Carolina, as Peppers reunited with the team that drafted him to finish his career.
Peppers and Sampedro have been married for about a half-decade, and they have one child together.
Tony Gonzalez and October Gonzalez
NFL legend Tony Gonzalez may have had the title of being the best tight end in NFL history, if it weren’t for New England Patriots superstar Rob Gronkowski taking the league by storm. Nevertheless, Gonzalez is easily a top-two tight end in NFL history.
In 2007, Gonzalez married his wife, October Gonzalez, who has made appearances on television every now and then. Though she’s made herself familiar on camera, it’s her husband who remains on TV screens across the nation each week as an NFL analyst.
Tony Romo and Candice Crawford
Iconic Dallas Cowboys quarterback and current NFL broadcaster Tony Romo is one of the biggest names in football. Known for quarterbacking America’s team for about a decade, Romo has since burst onto the national spotlight as a truly gifted football broadcaster.
Romo married a former beauty pageant queen in Candice Crawford. Crawford was also named “Miss Missouri.” The two married in 2011, and they have three children together.
Carson Wentz and Madison Oberg
Super Bowl champion quarterback Carson Wentz has quickly evolved into one of the most prolific passers in football. Over that time, the Philadelphia Eagles star began dating Madison Oberg. After that championship win, Wentz did something incredible.
Less than a week after the Super Bowl win, Wentz popped the question and proposed to Oberg. About a year later, the two married. Wentz appears to have a bright future ahead of him — both on and off the field.
Cooper Kupp and Anna Kupp
A third-round selection in the 2017 NFL Draft, Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp has become one of the NFL’s most talented slot receivers. The Eastern Washington University star product has become the team’s top receiving threat, helping the Rams reach the Super Bowl LIII.
Kupp married his wife, Anna Kupp, in 2015. But their history began long before that, as they met back in high school. In 2018, the couple welcomed their first child into the world. With Kupp being a third-generation NFL player, it may only be a matter of time before his son is suiting up.
A.J. Green and Miranda Brooke
One of the league’s most underappreciated players, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green has some serious Hall of Fame potential. Unlike many other star receivers, Green stays out of the spotlight and lets his hands do the talking. In college, a woman named Miranda Brooke caught the star receiver’s attention.
The two attended the University of Georgia. Green went on to play in the NFL, while Brooke wrote a few songs in hopes of becoming a singer. Though that career never quite took off, their family life did, as the couple has had two boys together.
Nelson Agholor and Viviana Volpicelli
Nelson and Viviana first met at the University of Southern California where Agholor played for the Trojans football team. They stayed together through college and moved to Philadelphia after he was drafted to the Eagles in 2015.
Viviana runs a beauty blog where she gives tips and opinions on everything from skincare and makeup to fashion and fitness. These two love touting their love for each other on Instagram with captions such as, “special shoutout to my soulmate and wonderful girlfriend thank you for your support and sacrifice!” – Nelson Agholor.
Baker Mayfield and Emily Wilkinson
Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield has taken the NFL by storm since his impressive debut in 2018. Mayfield began dating Emily Wilkinson around the same time as his career with the Cleveland Browns.
After the two were introduced through a mutual friend, Mayfield followed the aspiring Instagram model several times to catch her attention.
Fast forward a year, and the two are already celebrating an incredible marriage. With Mayfield quickly becoming one of the biggest names in football, it wouldn’t be a shock to see these two faces around the NFL for a long time.
Mitchell Trubisky and Hillary Gallagher
Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky began to date Hillary Gallagher over the offseason, and the press immediately took notice.
While Trubisky played collegiate football at the University of Carolina, Gallagher spent her college years studying marketing at Florida State University.
The couple’s relationship began quietly, but once they became Instagram-official in 2019, they have become one of Chicago’s most beloved couples. With Trubisky at the helm and Gallagher by his side, fans of the Bears have a lot to be excited about.
Jared Goff and Christen Harper
Since being selected first overall selection in the 2016 NFL Draft, Jared Goff has quickly established himself as a capable passer on one of football’s most dominant passing offenses in the LA Rams. After Though a Super Bowl run fell short at the hands of the Patriots in 2019, Goff has seen success off the field.
The star quarterback is dating Christen Harper, a model who has also done some acting work. The Los Angeles-based duo easily make for one of the best-looking couples in football and could even make an case for all of sports!
Saquon Barkley and Anna Congdon
Superstar New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley became NYC’s pride and join beore even putting on a jersey. At Penn State, Barkley would routinely blow by helpless opponents for weekly highlight reels. The former Nittany Lion is still dating another Penn State student.
Anna Congdon met and began to date Barkley while attending Penn State. Things got pretty serious between the two while they were students, and that never changed. In 2018, the couple welcomed their first child.
Zach Ertz and Julie Ertz
Arguably the greatest power couple in sports, Zach Ertz is a Super Bowl champion and his wife, Julie Ertz, is a World Cup champion. Ertz has helped the Philadelphia Eagles become a dominant team in the league as one of the league’s premier tight ends, while his wife has proven to be a top notch talent on the pitch.
From being named the National Women’s Soccer League Rookie of the Year to becoming a World Cup champion, Ertz can likely run laps around her athletic hubby. These two are still young too and look to have bright futures ahead of them!
Nick Foles and Tori Foles
Former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles was a career journeyman but, in 2018, he led Philly to a Super Bowl, earning Super Bowl MVP honors in the process. His wife, Tori Foles, has been with him since before he became a superstar.
The two married in 2014, when Foles was still in his first stint with the Eagles. He’s played on three more teams since then, becoming a household name in the process.
The couple tragically suffered a miscarriage in 2019, bravely choosing to share their experience on social media.
Christian Ponder and Samantha Ponder
One of the most recognizable power couples in sports, the Ponders have become icons in the football world. Christian Ponder, a star quarterback at Florida State University, was selected with the 12th overall pick of the 2011 NFL Draft. Samantha Ponder, meanwhile, has become one of the most high-profile college football reporters in the United States.
Ponder has spent time at Fox Sports and ESPN, establishing herself as a fixture in NCAA football coverage. Her success helped her become the host of ESPN NFL Countdown, one of the most historic football shows on cable television. Though her husband is no longer an NFL quarterback, Ponder can be seen on television every NFL Sunday.
Cam Newton and Kia Proctor
Former first overall pick Cam Newton may be best known among NFL fans for leading the Carolina Panthers to a 15-1 record in 2015 before ultimately losing the Super Bowl to the Denver Broncos. He is the only player to be awarded the Heisman Trophy, win a national championship and be the first overall pick in an NFL draft in one year.
Newton has spent years with his longtime girlfriend, Kia Proctor. The couple has had three children together and are expecting a fourth to come in late 2019 or early 2020. Meanwhile, Newton continues to impress in the NFL, with his Panthers reaching the playoffs in four of the six seasons from 2013 to 2018.
Antonio Gates and Sasha Gates
Future Hall of Fame tight end Antonio Gates has been a dominant red zone threat for decades. The Chargers’ all-time leader in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns, Gates has a legitimate case to make as a top-five tight end of all time. Not bad for a Kent State University product who went undrafted in 2003.
Sasha Gates, meanwhile, has become a television star in her own right over the years. The tight end’s wife has starred on the series WAGS, which follows the lives of famous athletes’ wives and girlfriends. With her husband playing football in Los Angeles before his retirement, WAGS LA was a perfect fit for Sasha.
Robert Woods and Alexandra Woods
The first time Robert Woods approached his now-wife, Alexandra Woods, she blew him off. But after a mutual acquaintance encouraged her to get to know him, Woods gave the former Buffalo Bills wide receiver a chance. They hit it off and began regularly making cross-country flights to see one another.
Woods eventually signed a new contract to join the Los Angeles Rams, which meant he’d live closer to Alexandra. And, after some time, the star receiver proposed to her on a luxurious vacation in Turks & Caicos. Now, he continues to tear it up for the Rams, who recently made an appearance in the Super Bowl.
Donald Penn and Dominique Penn
Offensive tackle Donald Penn has made quite the name for himself in the NFL. The career journeyman has played on four different NFL teams, but he has also earned three Pro Bowl selections. That’s an incredible accomplishment for a player who wasn’t even selected in the NFL Draft.
As if his career accomplishments weren’t enough, Penn also married a star of the television series WAGS LA, Dominique Penn, in 2012. The couple has three children together. And in 2019, 13 years after every team in the NFL passed on the chance to draft him, Penn is still protecting quarterbacks in the NFL.
Brian Quick and Michelle Beltran
A second-round pick in 2012, Brian Quick is the highest NFL Draft pick to ever come out of Appalachian State University. The two-time All-American appeared to be on the fast track to NFL stardom early in his career, but never quite blossomed into the talented teams hoped to see.
Despite Quick’s failure to haul in NFL passes, he made a big catch in 2015. The football star married Michelle Beltran, who is a star in her own right. Beltran has been featured on E’s WAGS show, which follows the beautiful wives and girlfriends of famous athletes in the NFL and other leagues.
Philip Wheeler and Ashley Nicole Roberts
Former Georgia Tech standout linebacker Philip Wheeler parlayed a successful college career into a hefty NFL payday. The former third-round draft pick didn’t see much success early in his professional career, but he eventually managed to sign a five-year, $25 million contract with the Miami Dolphins.
Wheeler’s contract didn’t pan out, however. After two years, the linebacker was released. He has since failed to find a long-term home in the NFL. Fortunately, however, Wheeler married Ashley Nicole Roberts, a veteran of the U.S. Army and star on the show WAGS. Wheeler’s NFL career may not have been what he might’ve imagined, but he still managed to score with Roberts.
Eric Decker and Jessie James Decker
Eight-year NFL veteran Eric Decker had quite the career for the Denver Broncos, New York Jets, Tennessee Titans, and New England Patriots. The former third-round pick was one of the most underrated wide receivers of his era, tallying 54 touchdowns and nearly 6,000 receiving yards in his career.
Eric, however, isn’t the only superstar in his household. Decker’s wife, Jessie James Decker, is a country pop singer-songwriter, reality television star, and fashion designer. After releasing her debut album, Decker starred with her husband in the E! reality show titled “Eric & Jessie: Game On.”
Kyle Van Noy and Marissa Powell
Two-time Super Bowl champion linebacker Kyle Van Noy has been a difference-maker for the New England Patriots since he was traded to the team by the Detroit Lions. The former second-round pick was an afterthought at the time of the trade, but he has evolved into one of football’s most talented linebackers.
Van Noy’s wife is a star in her own right. Marissa Powell is known for her success as an actress on the show “Ballers.” Powell, formerly Miss Utah in 2013, is also known for her success as a former beauty pageant queen.
Rob Gronkowski and Camille Kostek
Perhaps the greatest tight end to ever play the sport of football, Rob Gronkowski has been a difference-maker throughout his NFL career. The three-time Super Bowl champ has been a key target of Tom Brady, playing an important role in the New England Patriots’ dynasty run.
Throughout much of Gronk’s success, Camille Kostek has been by his side. She has gained national recognition, thanks in large part to her appearances in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. But a 2019 solo cover with the magazine gained her international prominence. In the past, she’s been an NFL cheerleader and sports show host.
Ryan Tannehill and Lauren Tannehill
Longtime Miami Dolphins quarterback-turned Tennessee Titans starter Ryan Tannehill is one of the NFL’s most interesting players. The signal-caller began his college career as a wide receiver, only to transition over to quarterback in the middle of his tenure. Eventually, he became an NFL-caliber passer.
Tannehill’s wife, Lauren Tannehill, has earned some buzz of her own as the quarterback has made a name for himself in the NFL. She was once rumored to star in a Maxim photo shoot, but despite rumors, the shoot never materialized. The pair has a son and two dogs together.
Golden Tate and Elise Tate
Super Bowl champion wide receiver Golden Tate is a legendary figure in the history of the Seattle Seahawks. The former second-round pick had a breakout season in 2013, showcasing his immense talent en route to the franchise’s first ever Super Bowl championship. Tate has since played for three other NFL clubs and earned a Pro Bowl nod in 2014.
While Golden has become an NFL star, his wife Elise Tate has been by his side. The couple has been married for a few years, and they have two children together. And no matter where the Tates have been, they have always been beloved by fans of the team Golden plays for!
NEXT: Let’s take a look at some of the most powerful wives and girlfriends in all of sports
Shakira and Gerard Piqué
We all know one thing about Shakira, and it’s that her hips DO NOT LIE. Columbian superstar singer Shakira entered the English-language market in 2001 after years of dominating the Latin American charts. Since her English-debut single “Whenever, Wherever,” Shakira has grown her audience and become one of the globe’s best-selling artists.
In 2010, Shakira released “Waka Waka,” the official theme song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. While filming the song’s music video, she met Gerard Pique, a Spanish center back for the Spanish National Team and F.C. Barcelona. The couple is 10 years apart and they have two children together.
Sofia Balbi and Luis Suarez
Notorious flopper, diver, and biter Luis Suarez, the talented forward for F.C. Barcelona, married his longtime girlfriend Sofia Balbi back in 2009. The two met while back in Uruguay at the young age of 15. Apparently, Balbi was bitten by the love bug that is Suarez and was infected with affection.
In 2003, Balbi and her family moved to Barcelona, motivating Suarez to take his ridiculous act overseas as well. At 19, Suarez signed with Dutch club Groningen, a move that allowed him to be closer to his one true love. After bouncing through the Dutch leagues, Suarez made it to the English Premier League before signing with Barcelona in 2014. The couple has three children.
Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson
Is there an NBA player or athlete the Kardashian family hasn’t dated? Tristan Thompson was not the No.1 draft pick of Khloe Kardashian; he was a late fill in. Khloe Kardashian got her first taste of dating an NBA player back in 2009 when she married former Lakers player Lamar Odom, whom she married one month after meeting him at a party.
That relationship ended after her husband was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel. After Odom, Khloe found herself dating Cleveland big man Tristan Thompson. Khloe gave birth to her daughter True Thompson on April 12, 2018. Today, the two are no longer a couple after it was revealed Thompson had cheated on Khloe multiple times throughout her pregnancy.
Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady
One of the most powerful couples in sports, six-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady is not his household’s breadwinner. That distinction belongs to his supermodel wife, Gisele Bundchen. Bundchen, one of the most recognizable Brazilians in the world, is also one of the world’s most famous and sought-after models.
In 2014, Forbes named Gisele Bundchen the 89th Most Powerful Woman in the world, and all that power means big paychecks. In 2016, Gisele Bundchen made a massive $30.5 million thanks to modeling appearances and endorsement deals while her husband, the greatest quarterback to ever live, “only” pulled in $15 million.
Samantha Ponder and Christian Ponder
The Christian Ponder experiment didn’t really work out for the Minnesota Vikings. Taken 12th overall in 2011, Ponder never really became the quarterback of the future. Since that day, Vikings fans have been pondering where their franchise could be had he been better. After a few average seasons, Ponder was out of Minnesota.
Fortunately for him, his relationship with ESPN reporter Samantha Ponder has lasted longer than his time in the league. Samantha Ponder, nee Steele, began working for Fox Sports covering college athletics before signing with ESPN’s Longhorn Network in 2011. Today, the Ponders are proud parents of three children.
Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez
Will they go by J-Rod or A-Lo? What about L0-Ro? Mabe Ro-Lo if they’re feeling extra spunky. Simply put, there are endless combinations and permutations with this couple. A-Rod, as many of you know, was the highest-paid man in baseball. A shortstop/third baseman with a penchant for big hits and solid fielding, A-Rod was a key member of the Yankees 2009 World Series team that beat Philadelphia in six games.
In 2017, Rodriguez began dating actress/singer Jennifer Lopez, who in 2012 was named by Forbes as the most powerful celebrity in the world. The couple became engaged in 2019. Lopez and Alex Rodriguez each have two children from prior relationships.
Katherine Webb and A.J. McCarron
Three-time BCS National Champion quarterback A.J. McCarron definitely had his time in the spotlight stolen by what turned out to be his future wife. McCarron’s wife, Katherine Webb, saw her celebrity increase tenfold during the 2013 National Championship Game when announcer Brent Mussberger made a big fuss about her looks. After the game, searches for “A.J. McCarron’s girlfriend” on Google blew up.
That attention helped Webb, a 2012 Miss Alabama winner, launch her modeling career. In 2013, she appeared in Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue. Today, Mccarron, a perennial backup, and his wife have two children. In 2019, McCarron signed with the Houston Texans, his third team in as many years.
Anna Kournikova and Sergei Fedorov
Anna Kournikova’s tennis career had a lot more bark than bite. While she was one of the most famous and recognize stars during her heyday, her fame was largely generated on looks rather than performance. Kournikova never won a Grand Slam singles title but did win two Grand Slam doubles titles while partnered with Martina Hingis. Off the court, Kournikova lived a mysterious life. Rumors constantly swirled about who Kournikova was dating or married to.
One of those mystery men happened to be fellow Russian national Sergei Fedorov, an NHL All-Star and Stanley Cup champion. Fedorov claimed that he and Kournikova wed in 2001 and divorced two years later. Kournikova and her team deny the marriage ever existed.
Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher
Country music star Carrie Underwood and her NHL husband Mike Fisher are a power couple not to be trifled with. Underwood rose to fame on the hit television series “American Idol” which spawned her massive, impressive career. Her greatest hit, “Before He Cheats,” is a stark warning to any man who ever decides to act in less than faithful ways. Underwood’s voice has been described as one of the most impressive and profound in the music industry today;
she’s sold more than 65 million records worldwide and was listed in 2014 by Time Magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world. That influence only increased when Underwood wed Mike Fisher, an NHL center, back in 2010. The two met at an Underwood concert and have two children together.
Elisha Cuthbert and Dion Phaneuf
Elisha Cuthbert, the former star of the Fox hit action-drama series “24” and Will Ferrell comedy “Old School,” gained a ton of notoriety in 2008 thanks to Sean Avery’s disgusting remarks regarding her relationship with Dion Phaneuf, her future husband.
Cuthbert, who Maxim named 2013’s most beautiful woman in television, dated Sean Avery, a notorious NHL pest and agitator, before breaking it off for Dion Phaneuf, a three-time All-Star defenseman for the Los Angeles Kings. In 2013, Cuthbert and Phaneuf married at St. James Catholic Church on Prince Edward Island. In 2017, the couple had their first child, a daughter named Zaphire.
Hillary Duff and Mike Comrie
One of the original Disney child stars, Hillary Duff has made a great career for herself in a variety of disparate endeavors. Duff’s breakthrough role came as the main character on the “Lizzie McGuire show.” Following that, she began to sing, act in movies and television, and even began to write books, authoring “Elixir,” a 2013 New York Times bestseller. In 2007, Duff made the transition from innocent child star to edgy sex symbol when she appeared on the cover of Maxim Magazine.
That same year she also began dating NHL player Mike Comrie. In 2010, the two engaged and later married. Two years later, Duff and Combrie welcomed their first child a son. Sadly, this relationship did not have a fairytale ending as the two separated in 2014 with their divorce being finalized in 2016.
Candace Cameron Bure and Valerie Bure
Candace Cameron Bure is best known for her role as D.J. Tanner on “Full House,” a television sitcom from the 90s. When she’s not acting or dancing, Bure is writing and has published four books, one of them a New York Times bestseller.
In 1996, Bure’s house became a bit more full when she married one-time NHL All-Star Valeri Bure. Together, Candance and Valerie have one daughter and two sons. Valeri is a two-time Olympic medalist, winning the silver in 1998 and the bronze in 2002.
Ayesha Curry and Steph Curry
How fitting is it that Ayesha Alexander, the future wife of NBA MVP Steph Curry, grew up passionate about cooking? Ayesha was born and raised in Toronto until the age of 14. Then she and her family moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, where she met Steph at a Church youth group.
The couple began dating while Steph attended Davidson College, and the two married in 2011. Together, the Currys have three children. Their youngest child, Canon, has an appropriate name for basketball should he inherit his father’s sweet stroke. How cool would it sound to hear, “Canon Curry connects from deep!”?
Danica Patrick and Aaron Rodgers
The clock is ticking on when this relationship will crash and burn. See Danica Patrick, for all of the hype and fame she garnered as a NASCAR and IndyCar Driver, never did much on the court. She was much more likely to crash, spin out, and ruin the race for others than win.
On the flip side of the relationship is her boyfriend, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who she started dating back in 2018. Unlike Patrick, Rodgers has proven himself to be one of the league’s most accurate and skilled passers. Before Patrick, Rodges dated Olivia Munn, but like a good cornerback, Patrick intercepted his love and has yet to fumble it away.
Elin Nordegren and Tiger Woods
Yes, we know that they are no longer a couple, but when they were, they oozed status and power. Nordegren was an internationally celebrated supermodel while Tiger Woods was the greatest golfer on planet earth. Woods and Nordegren became engaged in 2003 and married in 2004. Three years after their marriage, they had their first child, Sam Alexis Woods.
In 2009, Woods and Nordegren had their second kid, Charlie Axel. But in 2009, Woods’ world came crashing down after he was caught cheating on his wife. The tumultuous affair cost Woods his marriage, numerous sponsorships, and millions of dollars of income, not to mention a perfectly damaged reputation. In 2010, the couple divorced, with Nordegren receiving $100 million from the divorce.
Yvette Prieto and Michael Jordan
Despite the 15-year age gap, Michael Jordan and his Cuban-American model wife Yvette Prieto appear to be a happy couple. Yvette Prieto, who has modeled for designer Alexander Wang, met Jordan while dancing at a night club back in 2007. Rumor has it, Jordan hit Prieto with the dirtiest crossover she had ever seen, nearly breaking her ankles and her high heels.
The two dated for two years before moving in together in 2009. Two years later, the lovebirds engaged, and in 2013, the two married at Bethesda-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church. Michael Jordan and Prieto have twins, daughters named Victoria and Ysabel Jordan.
Allison Stokke and Rickie Fowler
Rickie Fowler and future wife Allison Stokke have been an internet sensation in the world of Golf after she posted how proud she was of her man for finishing 2nd in the Masters. News broke about their relationship following their Instagram posts from the Moto GP of the Americas in Austin, Texas.
Allison Stokke is a viral sensation on her own after one of her photos from her pole vaulting days practically broke the internet. This was just before she came up short qualifying for the US Olympic Trials in 2012 after three attempts.
Rob Gronkowski and Camille Kostek
Amidst the 2019 NFL regular season, rumors are running rampant about whether or not Rob Gronkowski will return to the New England Patriots. Fans are pointing out tweets where Tom Brady and Rob are seen working out together and arguably training together for an imminent return, however, Gronk still only jokes about coming back for week 14.
What you may not already know is that Camille Kostek, Gronkowski’s girlfriend, is a powerhouse all on her own. She was announced as the cover model for Sports Illustrated’s May edition. Gronk, extremely proud of his successful and beautiful model girlfriend, actively posts about her on his social media.
Jena Frumes and Antonio Brown
The star wide receiver had been dating Instagram star Jena Frumes for quite some time in 2017. While she was under the impression they were still dating, Jena found out that he was going back to the mother of his children Kyriss via social media. Brown has posted a family picture of him with Kyriss and his children.
Frumes then tweeted a series of responses. “Numb,” she first wrote, followed by another tweet, “Everything you read on the internet is true.” She wold follow up with a third post saying, “When you get used for a publicity stunt by someone you genuinely liked just to piss their ex off, that’s life I suppose.”
Lindsey Vonn and P.K. Subban
This couple’s engagement recently blew up the internet following their appearance at the 2019 VMAs. Lindsey Vonn is an Olympic Skier and P.K. Subban is an NHL player for the New Jersey Devils, formerly of the Nashville Predators and Montreal Canadiens.
They started dating in early 2018 and confirmed the rumors about their relationship when they attended the CMT Music Awards in Nashville that year. Subban proposed privately at their home. Subban told Vogue, “I got the ring and said, ‘You know what? I’m just going to do it home”.
Ciara and Russell Wilson
This beat is automatic, supersonic…those famous words uttered by singer/songwriter/actress Ciara were all too prescient when she said them back in 2004 because little did she know she’d be living in the city of the SuperSonics married to its most beloved son, Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.
Ciara is most well-known for her big singles “1,2 Step” and “Goodies,” both of which were chart-topping hits that put her on the map. Russell Wilson, Seattle’s multifaceted quarterback, hasn’t released any singles yet, but he has won a Super Bowl and is the main reason why Seattle is competitive year in and year out. The couple married in 2016 and has one child.
Erica Herman and Tiger Woods
After a rough half-decade slump, golfing legend Tiger Woods finally made headlines without a hint of controversy. That’s because in 2018 he won the Atlanta Tour Championship. And his return to his winning ways after five years in slumpsville was credited to the love of one particular woman, Tiger’s girlfriend, Erica Herman.
Herman and Tiger have been dating since 2017. The two met because Herman, who works in the food and beverage industry, ran one of Tiger’s restaurants in Florida. They were first seen together as a couple at the Presidents Cup in 2017 and are still going strong today.
Eva Longoria and Tony Parker
This isn’t the only time you will see the French phenom on this list. Tony Parker first wife was Eva Longoria, a model and actress best known for her work on daytime television and the hit series “Desperate Housewives.” In 2004, Longoria met Spurs legend Tony Parker, and three years later they married at a Catholic service in Paris.
However, not all that glitters is gold, and behind the scenes, trouble was brewing. Parker was caught up in a scandalous extramarital affair with Erin Barry, the wife of Parker’s teammate Brent Barry. In 2010, Longoria filed for divorce. The divorce was finalized in 2011.
Leila Lopes and Osi Umenyiora
Former sack master for the Giants Osi Umenyiora and his supermodel wife had an amazing year in 2011. For Leila Lopes, she reached the top of the beauty world. Lopes, who hails from the African nation Angola, won both Miss Angola UK and Miss Angola in 2010. She followed up these titles with a Miss Universe title in 2011.
On the football side of things, her future husband Osi, a two-time Super Bowl champion and one of only five British-born players to win a Super Bowl, won his second championship also in 2011. Two years after reaching the zenith of their careers, Lopes and Umenyiora became engaged. IN 2015, they were married, and in 2018 Lopes announced that she was pregnant.
La La Anthony and Carmelo Anthony
Although this relationship may be off and on, it is more consistent and steady than Carmelo Anthony’s nearly non-existent defense. Carmelo Anthony is a prolific scorer, no one doubts that. But for all the buckets he makes, he allows just as many. That being said, Anthony has done a great job of defending his true love, Alani “La La” Vazquez, from getting out of his grasp.
La La, who stars as a reality television host and actress, became engaged to Carmelo in 2004 and married him in 2010. The two have one child, Kiyan Carmelo Anthony, who was born in 2007. As of late, the two have been in a turbulent relationship marked by rumors surrounding an extramarital affair involving Melo and woman from gentlemen’s club he frequented.
Larsa Pippen and Scottie Pippen
“No tippin Pippen” surely didn’t woo his wife Larsa based on his generosity. The frugal phenom Scottie Pippen is regarded as one of the greatest NBA players in history, specifically when it comes to his defensive prowess. The six-time champ and seven-time All-Star was Michael Jordan’s right-hand man, a Robin of sorts.
In 1997, Pippen had a career year that saw him win an NBA Finals and marry Larsa Younan, a star from the hit TV series “The Real Housewives of Miami.” The couple has had an up and down relationship marked by the threat of divorce only to be followed by passionate reconciliation. Together they have four children; their eldest, Scotty Pippen Jr. has committed to play basketball at Vanderbilt University.
Hannah Jeter and Derek Jeter
The Captain found his first mate. Yankees icon and current Marlins minority owner Derek Jeter has dated his fair share of celebrity icons including Mariah Carey, Miss Universe Lara Dutta, and actresses Jordana Brewster and Jessica Biel. But none of those sights for sore eyes were enough for the shortstop.
That is until a model by the name of Hannah Jeter caught his eye. Hannah, best known for her appearances in Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issues, appeared on the cover of the 2015 edition. Hailing from the U.S. Virgin Islands, she and Jeter became engaged in 2015 and married one year later. Today, the Jeters are parents of two children.
Kim Sears and Andy Murray
Look at that passion and enthusiasm on her face as she cheers on England’s finest tennis player, Andy Murray. Murray is a three-time Grand Slam winner and two-time Olympic gold medalist. Although three Grand Slams may pale in comparison to other tennis stars, it is quite an achievement for the Scott, who became the first British man to win multiple Wimbledon singles titles since Fred Perry did so back in 1936.
Murray is married to his No.1 fan and cheerleader Kim Sears, the daughter of player and coach Nigel Sears. In 2014, the couple announced their engagement, and they married one year later. They have two daughters who might rule the courts themselves one day.
Nicole Johnson and Michael Phelps
The Baltimore Bullet, Michael Phelps, is the most decorated Olympian in history with a total of 28 medals, with 23 of them being gold. A swimmer with a chiseled body and ridiculous medal count, Phelps was a sought after bachelor, naturally, and out of all the fish in the sea, Phelps was most drawn to Nicole Johnson, the 2010 Miss California winner.
Johnson and Phelps met at the ESPYs back in 2007 and had an off-and-on again relationship until they engaged in 2015. Then the mysterious Phelps and his fiance secretly married in 2016, one month after the birth of their first son Boomer. Since then, the couple has had their second child, a boy named Beckett.
Tiffany Ortiz and David Ortiz
The wife of David Ortiz, Tiffany, is on the New England Board of Directors for UNICEF, an organization that works to support the world’s children. Her drive to help children doesn’t stop there though. She also helps her husband run the David Ortiz Children’s Fund to “help children in New England and the Dominican Republic who do not have access to the critical pediatric services they need.”
Ortiz’s life was put in harm’s way when he was recently shot while visiting the Dominican Republic on Sunday, June 9th, 2019. He underwent a successful surgery before being flown to Boston to recover. Professional athletes and fans alike expressed their well-wishes to Ortiz in his recovery period as he’s one of the most beloved athletes the game of baseball has ever seen.
Nicole Williams and Larry English
Larry English was not the menacing linebacker the Chargers envisioned him to be when they selected him 16th overall in 2009. The Northern Illinois product was a sack master in college but failed to produce at the NFL level and was hampered by injuries throughout his rather short career. Lucky for English, his home life appears to be going just fine.
That’s because English is happily married to Canadian-born swimsuit model Nicole Williams. The two began dating in 2013 and tied the knot back in 2017. To date, they don’t have any kids but want some in the future once their fervent passion for travel dies down.
Sasha Gates and Antonio Gates
Future Hall of Fame tight end Antonio Gates is showing no signs of slowing down. Gates is the Chargers’ all-time leader in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns. What’s even more amazing than that (and mind you he’s a tight end, not a receiver) is that Gates went undrafted in 2003 out of Kent State University.
Gates’ wife Sasha, whom he married back in 2011, is a bit less prolific in her industry but a star nonetheless. Sasha had her career breakthrough starring on the thrilling, heart-pounding, gripping, must-watch TV series “WAGs.” Ok, that may have been a bit of hyperbole, but “WAGS” was a big enough show to help launch some careers.
Michelle Beltran and Brian Quick
The St. Louis Rams selected Brian “Super” Quick with the 33rd pick of the 2012 NFL Draft, making him the highest-draft Appalachian State product. Quick, a two-time FCS All-American at App State, the school that shocked Michigan many years ago, has not had the same amount of success at the NFL, catching 10 touchdowns in his seven years of play.
However, in 2015, Quick made the biggest catch of his career when he wed Michelle Beltran. Beltran is another reality star who has appeared on E!’s celebrity WAG reality series that basically is much ado about nothing. Beltran’s Instagram has 34,000,000 followers, a significant amount more than her husband.
Ashley Nicole Roberts and Philip Wheeler
You may best remember Philip Wheeler during the time he played college football at Georgia Tech where the standout linebacker was a two-time Second-team All-ACC member. The Colts selected Wheeler in the third round of the 2008 draft. After his time in Indy, Wheeler went to Oakland on a one-year deal where he had a career year, which, in turn, helped him sign a five-year, $25 million deal with the Dolphins.
Like most moves the Dolphins make, the Wheeler signing didn’t exactly pan out as they had hoped as he was with the team for only two years. Today, Wheeler is a free agent on the football side of things but is locked down off it, married to Ashley Nicole Roberts, a self-proclaimed “momprenuer” and U.S. Army veteran. She has half a million followers on Instagram.
Vanessa Bryant and Kobe Bryant
One of the most famous couples in sports, Kobe and his longtime wife Vanessa have seen and been through it all. In 1999, a 21-year-old Bryant met 17-year-old Vanessa (nee Laine) while she was working as a backup dancer for a music video. In a classic instance of love at first sight, Bryant, after dating his high school girlfriend for six months, dropped to a knee.
Despite outward objection and social estrangement from his parents, Bryant married Vanessa in 2001, without his parents in attendance. In 2003, the Bryants survived arguably the rockiest period of their relationship after Bryant admitted to cheating on his wife in a massive scandal. Despite numerous threats of divorce, Bryant remains steadfast and loyal to his wife and mother of his three children.
Sam Smalling and Chris Smalling
Manchester United and English National Team staple Chris Smalling may not be the flashiest player in the world, but he’s a steady and effective presence on the pitch. Off the pitch, Smalling, thanks to his wife’s influence, is a vegan. Prior to becoming one of the most selective eaters on earth, Smalling cut out red meat from his diet.
What Chris Smalling has yet to cut out of his diet is his appetite for his wife Sam, a tabloid model from England. Sam, also a vegan, suffers from IBS, a stomach condition that causes her excessive bloating. But, thanks to her ultra-healthy vegan diet, Sam is able to keep her condition under control.
Axelle Francine and Tony Parker
The second coming of Tony Parker on this list. After Parker’s marriage to Eva Longoria ended, the Frenchman hit the market, ready to spin, crossover, and fake out any competition standing in his way of finding a new trophy wife. That trophy wife turned out to be Axelle Francine, a French journalist.
In 2013 the couple became engaged, and one year later, the fast-moving French nationals married. Together, they have two boys, Josh and Liam Parker. Interesting names for two boys with French parents. Time will tell if they follow in their dad’s footsteps and become elite NBA point guards or opt to become journalists like their mother.
Antonella Roccuzzo and Lionel Messi
The greatest soccer player in the world (debate amongst passionate fans ensues) needs a rockstar wife ready to deal with the fame, fortune, and fabricated news that is bound to swirl above her husband’s head. Messi has been the face of F.C. Barcelona since 2004, when he made his much-anticipated debut as a 17-year-old.
Since then, Messi has solidified himself as one of the greatest to ever play the game. Aside from F.C. Barcelona, Messi has captained the Argentinian National Team. Messi has known his wife, also from Rosario, Argentina, since he was five. In 2008, after much speculation, he announced his relationship to his longtime love. In 2017, they married, and the couple has three sons.
Paulina Gretzky and Dustin Johnson
Wayne Gretzky’s greatest achievement may have been having four kids, one of them being Paulina Gretzky. At least that’s what golfer Dustin Johnson must think. Paulina Gretzky is the oldest of Gretzky’s five children and has spent most of her professional life as a model and occasionally as a singer. In 2013, Gretzky became engaged to golfer Dustin Johnson.
Johnson, the 2016 U.S. Open winner, has two sons with Paulina, Tatum and River Jones. In 2017, Johnson held the world No.1 ranking. Despite the high ranking and massive following he has, Johnson only has one major championship. At the 2019 Masters, Johnson finished second to Tiger Woods. Since that finish, Johnson has been largely out of the spotlight.
Nina Westbrook and Russell Westbrook
Russell Westbrook is the most aggressive man in the NBA. A triple-double machine, Westbrook knows how to pad his stats and stare down his enemies. He’s yet to figure out how to win a title. Off the court, though, he appears to be much more of a family man with a kinder, softer side. Yes, Russell Westbrook may have a soft side.
In 2015, Westbrook married his girlfriend from college, Nina Earl. Together, the Westbrooks have a boy named Noah and two twin daughters born in 2018. Nina knows sign language and played basketball at the University of California Los Angeles, the same school her husband shined for himself.
Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade
A perfect union. Dwyane Wade is the greatest basketball player in Miami Heat history. He revitalized the franchise and brought it multiple championships, one of them being in 2013, the same year he became engaged to actress Gabrielle Union. Union and Wade started dating in 2009 but had to call off the relationship due to the strenuous demands of their career.
However, the two reconciled and got back together, marrying in 2014. In 2018, Wade had a daughter, born via surrogate, with Union, making him a father for the fourth time. Union, who starred in numerous television shows and movies, joined the judges in 2019 for the TV show “America’s Got Talent,” because, after all, she’s a talented woman.
Amelia Vega, Al Horford
In 2002, Dominican model Amelia Vega won the title Miss Dominican Republic. One year later, Vega stepped onto the biggest stage in the world to represent her country and became Miss Universe 2003. She has since added acting, singing, and even a pilot’s license to her repertoire.
The 6’0″ Vega sure found the right man to match her long legs. In 2011, Vega married Atlanta Hawks All-Star Al Horford. Since Horford signed with the Boston Celtics in 2016, they have been raising their two children in Massachusetts.
Kamiah Adams, Bradley Beal
Before Kamiah Adams met Washington Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal, she was working as an actress and model. Adams gained notoriety after appearing on the reality show “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood” while dating rapper Lil’ Fizz.
Adams’ fling with the B2K member was short-lived, though. Afterward, it didn’t take her long to fall back in love; she and Beal began dating in 2015. Look no further than social media to see just how popular Adams has become. She has an impressive 800,000 followers on her Instagram account.
Nicole “Hoopz” Alexander, Shaquille O’Neal
Nicole “Hoopz” Alexander earned her baller nickname when she appeared as a contestant on the first season of VH1’s “Flavor of Love.” Hoopz won the game show for a chance to date rapper Flavor Flav of Public Enemy. The reality show relationship ultimately failed, but led to another hoop romance.
In 2008, Hoopz reappeared on VH1, this time winning a much more lucrative prize of $250K on the reality show “I Love Money.” She began dating NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal in 2010, shortly after he had filed for divorce. The couple lived together in Boston but, like Shaq’s time as a Celtic, it didn’t last. They ended their relationship in 2012.
Shannon Walker Williams, Ray Allen
Before Shannon Walker Williams met NBA sharpshooter Ray Allen, she was developing her career in showbiz as a singer and actor. Williams sang with the short-lived female R&B group Shades from 1996-97. Afterward, she focused her career on television and film.
Williams and Allen began dating in 2004. They married in 2008 and have four children together. They’re active advocates for diabetes awareness, a disease which nearly caused the death of their son, Walker. Allen finished his NBA career with the Heat, and the family resides in Miami.
Adrienne Bosh, Chris Bosh
Adrienne Williams sure has a way with celebrities. Before she took NBA champ Chris Bosh’s surname, she was reportedly kicking it with other celebs. There was NFL linebacker John Abraham, safety DeAngelo Hall, NBA guard Delonte West, and rapper Lil’ Wayne.
Apparently, one can only take so much glitz and glam when it comes to dating. Eventually, Williams settled down with Miami Heat center Chris Bosh. She and Bosh married in 2011 and have since had four children together.
Iggy Azalea, Nick Young
This relationship made for quite a story, but much more so for the way it ended than the way it began. Australian beauty and female rapping phenom Iggy Azalea broke into the mainstream in 2011. Azalea quickly gained a massive following – including one celebrity athlete who played for the Los Angeles Lakers. Iggy Azalea began dating Nick Young, her fan and Lakers shooting guard, by 2013.
In 2015, after Hollywood’s hot new couple had announced their engagement, things took an ugly turn. Lakers rookie guard D’Angelo Russell released a video of Young bragging in the locker room about cheating on Azalea. That marked the end of this L.A. duo.
Kate Bock, Kevin Love
The Cleveland Cavaliers can thank All-Star power forward Kevin Love for playing a large part in the Eastern Conference powerhouse’s success since his arrival from Minnesota in 2014. K-Love has used his successful NBA career to help launch a budding career in the fashion industry.
For support, Love can turn to his stunning girlfriend, Canadian fashion model Kate Bock. The Vancouver-born model has had quite a career, appearing in Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue from 2013-17. Between Love appearing as an ambassador for Banana Republic and Bock flaunting her stuff for the likes of Maxim and Victoria’s Secret, this NBA couple is crushing hearts globally.
LaTasha Marbury, Stephon Marbury
Another member of the “Basketball Wives” family, LaTasha Marbury made her debut on the reality show a tad more “post-NBA” than the other basketball WAGs. Married to polarizing point guard Stephon Marbury – who was at the head of a wildly dysfunctional 2000s New York Knicks team – since 2002, Mrs. Starbury appeared on Season 5 of the VH1 hit show.
Even though one of the NBA’s favorite villains left the league in 2009, wife LaTasha Marbury was relevant as ever during her time on the show in 2013. Stephon Marbury had turned to the CBA in China to reincarnate his career as a ball god. Since her husband shot down the idea when an invitation was first extended during the show’s debut season, his absence while playing halfway across the globe made LaTasha’s air time on Season 5 conflict-free.
