Donald Trump Plays Quickie Golf with Tiger Woods, Dustin Johnson

Donald Trump certainly has his hands full being the head of state of a global superpower. But there’s always time for a golf game with one of the greats to do it.

The POTUS made the announcement himself on his own Twitter account on Nov. 24 when he wrote, “After Turkey call I will be heading over to Trump National Golf Club, Jupiter, to play golf (quickly) with Tiger Woods and Dustin Johnson. Then back to Mar-a-Lago for talks on bringing even more jobs and companies back to the USA!”

Critics were quick to pounce on his announcement as they pointed out how Donald Trump slammed Barack Obama a few times for always playing golf. He also claimed in February 2016 during the thick of the campaign that if he wins the Presidency, he would work so hard and won’t even have time to play golf.

Newsweek, however, said “quick” for the President is not the same as everybody else. It cited a Golfweek article which revealed that the average play time for 18 holes would be four hours, or about 13-15 minutes per hole. That’s not accounting for all the walking and driving in between.

Obama, who has never made it a secret his love for basketball and golf, apparently visited the greens 333 times in the two terms of office. “In Obama’s first year on the job, he played golf 24 times,” Newsweek said.

At the current trend, Trump would outpace Obama’s first four years in office. Politifact tracked the number of times both Presidents played golf while in office. Apparently, the real property mogul has already played golf 35 times in his first year of office.

This would be Tiger Woods’ first public appearance after pleading guilty to driving while under influence and reckless driving in October. He was ordered to go on a 12-month probation along with 50 hours of community service.
