She may have retired from racing full-time from NASCAR, but Danica Patrick’s heart could not stop racing everytime Green Bay Packers Aaron Rodgers is around.
The 35-year-old confirmed to the Associated Press that she’s indeed dating the quarterback, who is two years younger than her.
Now, Patrick has switched allegiance from the Chicago Bears to the Packers. “I told him a long time ago I’d always root for him as a player,” she said. “Now I am probably going to cheer for the whole team.”
Then she quickly added, “Take out the word ‘probably.’”
Rodgers had just come off a relationship with actress Olivia Munn. They split in April last year after three years of being together. For her part, Patrick and Ricky Stenhouse went their separate ways in December 2017 reportedly because the NASCAR driver didn’t want to get married.
Apparently, Danica took Stenhouse to a test by pulling an April Fool’s prank on her then boyfriend. But the racecar driver did not follow through with the engagement, and their relationship fizzled, TMZ reported.
Meanwhile, The 33-year-old quarterback explained that the stress of having a relationship while living a fishbowl existence strained his relationship with Munn.
“It has some extra constraints, because you have other opinions about your relationship, how it affects your work and, you know, just some inappropriate connections,” he said.
Rumors have been circulating around that Rodgers had feuded with his family because of Munn, although the quarterback refused to dignify the speculations with a response.
The news about Patrick dating Rodgers did not really surprise anybody as the two athletes have been linked since January this year. She said they were introduced to each other six years ago during the ESPYs event.
On Jan. 14, TMZ published a photo of Rodgers and Patrick having dinner together with friends at The Mission Mexican restaurant in Scottsdale, AZ, which fueled the dating rumors.
