Last year’s leading Bears receiver Kendall Wright will be sticking around for the NFC North, but this time he will be playing for the Minnesota Vikings. The team announced his move last Friday on their Twitter page with a caption saying, “Wright on! We have signed WR @1kendallwright.”
Wright has had an impressive performance with the Chicago Bears last year leading them in receptions and yards the entire season. The Vikings is making some big changes with their lineup following veteran Jarius Wright’s release to pick up on the salary-cap and make room for free contract agent signups.
The former Bears receiver signed up for a $2 million, one-year contract with the Chicago Bears last year and carved out an impressive performance for the team. He had a strong season with his previous team being the only receiver to get hold of more than 50 passes. He also hoisted over 59 receptions within 614 yards and was able to get a score.
Wright’s new Vikings appointment will allow him to work closely with standouts Stefon Diggs, Adam Thielen, and Kirk Cousins, some of Vikings prominent players. Once the team has completed the new roster, they are expected to be one of the most explosive lineups for the Vikings with exceptional players on the offense.
Kendal Wright has been around for some time making his NFL debut as a first-round selection for the Titans back in 2012. He also spent the next five seasons with the team raking in one of his strongest performances. He was able to catch 94 passes within 1079 yards during his second season in 2013.
His new teammates were quick to catch on his new assignment and welcomed him by hitting the social media page with expressions of excitement. Dalvin Cook made a comment saying, “Help me welcome my boy @1kendallwright.” Adam Thielen posted, “Yessir! Welcome to MN!” and Stefon Diggs said, “Welcome to the gang bro.”
